Salesforce Customer Success Lead (CSL) 

Job Summary 

The Salesforce Customer Success Lead (CSL) leads the project team and collaborates with team members, executives, and other stakeholders to ensure successful Salesforce outcomes. The CSL is the primary point of contact for the client and practice leaders. They look after all functional, technical, human resource, financial and business outcome aspects of a Salesforce project. Using business acumen, experiences across industries, thought leadership and Salesforce knowledge, they manage the project team and development sprints to deliver on time and on budget.  

 

Responsibilities 

  • Understand the intended audiences for the solution, purpose of engaging these audiences, and validate against objectives and success metrics 
  • Lead team collaboration to understand project requirements and translate those requirements into clear and comprehensive user stories 
  • Own and communicate the “journey” of iteratively delivering user stories through ongoing releases to quickly deliver business value 
  • Drive the momentum of the project forward and ensure all project deliverables are accurate and provide consultative options and recommendations 
  • Manage the relationship and exceed expectations of the customer by providing a high-quality solutions and service 
  • Identify skills and team needed to design, build, and deliver a comprehensive solution, including vendors and staff within and outside the organization 
  • Identification and communication of project risks and roadblocks, with creative solutions to accomplish project and business objectives regardless of changing circumstances 
  • Communicate with all relevant stakeholders (clients, employees, management) proactively throughout the project, including communicating difficult, sensitive, or confidential information tactfully 
  • Accountable for overall project budget, schedule and scope 
  • Lead project closure and “lessons learned” debrief process 
  • Collaborate with Account Directors and Solution Architects to create proposals for organic growth; assisting in defining the project approach, estimate and assumptions 
  • Drive soft-sales (up-selling opportunities) or articulate these opportunities to the appropriate channels 
  • Provide feedback to internal project team members to foster skill-building and mentorship 
  • Identify process improvement opportunities 
  • Keep current on new technologies as they relate to Salesforce and general applications 

 

Skills and Qualifications 

Required 

  • At least 8+ years in a consulting function 
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree a plus 
  • Minimum 3+ years managing complex CRM software projects 
  • Minimum 5 + years implementing Salesforce technology-based applications 
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, especially leadership and management of flexible scope 
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills with great attention to detail 
  • Ability to avoid conflicts (e.g., technology design, personality differences) with client while suggestions solutions that result in desired outcomes 
  • Excellent presentations development and delivery ability (to all levels of the organization)  
  • Excellent meeting management skills (e.g., agenda, managing expectations, facilitation, follow-up) 
  • Exposure to multiple industries, B2B and B2C business models. 
  • Efficient with Microsoft Project and other project management tools 
  • Experience with Agile management tools such as JIRA and Agile Accelerator 
  • Consulting background preferred 
  • For consultants based outside of India, willingness to travel up to 80% 
  • Salesforce Administrator Certification 
  • Salesforce Sales and/or Service Cloud Certification 

 

Preferred 

  • PMI-PMP Certification 
  • SCRUM Certification
