Cloud Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Role mandates infrastructure development and management of services in AWS.
  • Daily responsibilities will involve provisioning, upgrading, monitoring, deploying, and integrating software development into a single, continuous set of processes.
  • Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced DevOps environment with a bias towards action.
  • This is a very hands-on role that requires daily coding.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working on cloud infrastructure systems and automation.
  • Strong technical ability, willingness to learn and evolve your skills with advances in technology
  • Knowledge and experience of software development lifecycle and infrastructure-as-code tooling, such as CloudFormation, Terraform, CDK or Kubernetes
  • Manage multiple tasks and use sound judgment when prioritizing
  • Passionate about monitoring, observability, and sustainable infrastructure.
  • Strong sense of ownership and responsibility for the overall product and the success of the business, not just the infrastructure under your direct control.
  • Ability to understand and effectively debug both new and existing solutions.
  • Experience with version control, continuous integration, deployment, and configuration management tools in a DevOps environment.
  • Expertise with Linux, containers, system security and automation with scripting languages

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exceptional analytical skills, able to apply expertise to drive complex, technical and highly commercial solutions.
  • Experience supporting complex production application environments.
  • Experience with Kafka, MongoDB, Relational Databases, Redis
  • Experience with complete ELK, Distributed tracing, and monitoring
  • Experience with AWS, Snowflake, SalesForce, DataDog
  • Experience with security, isolation, and multi-tenant design of distributed cloud services
  • Understanding of RESTful API design best practices and experience in developing them
  • Hands on experience in major programming languages e.g., Java, JavaScript along with MVC framework
  • Experience using monitoring solutions like CloudWatch, ELK Stack, and Prometheus
  • An understanding of writing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), using tools like CloudFormation or Terraform
  • A solid background in Linux/Unix server system administration
  • Experience in troubleshooting distributed systems
  • Proficiency in script development and scripting languages
